I Found These Madhubani Borders in My Hand after decades
My hand remembered before I sat down to draw these Madhubani borders.
A few weeks ago I picked up my favourite black pen. No plan. But triangles came out forst on my mind. Then some some flowers. Then some lines.
I started.
These were the borders I saw on the walls of Patna in Bihar, decades ago. I thought I had forgotten about them. But joining a group of artist friends brought each single element to my mind.
I first drew them on my iPad. And then took them to my paper. It helps in erasing and doing again when you need to remember something from memory. Yes, there were no mobile phones to grab the sight and store them in the device forever, during the late 1990s.
I share these Madhubani borders for you here, from my desk.

Download PDF here. Trace them if you too want to try them. Or save them for later. Or ignore them, the walls won’t mind!
From my desk, where memoriesshow up uninvired,

P.S. – My hand trustsa Uni Pin 0.3mm fineliner. It does not argue with the colours later. The link is on My Art Desk
